I'm a software engineer, but I don't have much experience with hacking linux based firmware. Now I wonder, do they mean it's off for the 2014's forever, or just may show back up when the 2015's come out? This is insanely retarded, as connected services are still available everywhere else in the world (you can see them online for europe, russia, and south america to name a few). If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact our Customer Service Team at 1-80. However, we must warn you that downloading Mazda Toolbox from an external source releases FDM. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available.

Using the link below to download Mazda Toolbox from the developer's website was possible when we last checked. However it will not be available for purchase on this model year but may be provided in the future. Thank you for using our software library. The system was originally designed with Connected Services capabilities. Thank you for contacting us in regards to your Infotainment system.
#THE MAZDA TOOLBOX UPDATE#
The only issue that may arise later on, is the ability to update maps in the Autumn via the toolbox software.

The two sandisk SD's will be locked to our car, but clearly the car will accept any other legit unlocked card. Still using the 16GB SD card currently after another 500+ miles Restored the 2nd backup including the updated maps onto a 16GB Sandisk SD card Used Sandisk SD in car for about 500 miles (causing the lock) Updated maps on Sandisk SD card (1.4GB free) Restored backup to 8GB sandisk SD card (2.5GB free) So you can still use another SD card in the same car, but you can't use the locked SD card in another car.įrom personal experience, the process I followed was this:īackup original SD card (had only done about 20km) However this does NOT lock the car to that card. Keep in mind once you have driven 100km the SD card in use will lock to the car it's in. Once backed up, you can restore the backup to another SD card. The SD card can be backed up with the Mazda toolbox software. This apparently has been removed in the US, but is still available in the UK at least, as is the subscription to the service. The wifi is used to connect to your mobile as a hotspot to get live traffic/weather.
